Fantastic fund raising for Turkey and Syria

On February the 17th, along with all the States Primary schools, our children joined in with a Non-uniform day dressing in colours of the Turkish and Syrian flags to raise funds to support children and their families following the devastating earthquake. As as school we raised  £1000 and along with the other schools raised around £8,000 which was matched by the Overseas Aid Commission.

This was an amazing show of our Island children working together to help others.

Thank you to all of our families for supporting the children.

New Class Charters Jan 23

Our Rights Leader team monitored the class charters in Autumn term 2022 and the feedback was given to teachers during a training day in January 2023. The result of which was bigger and better Class charters.

The children asked for larger text, the language of Duty Bearers and Rights Holders to be used and links to the icons they are displaying around school.

The children asked, the staff listened!

Good to be Me Celebration

In November and December 2022, the children worked together with family members to create "Good to be Me" posters. We wanted to celebrate and recognise the children's achievements, talents and interests. These are on display in the halls and the children and staff both enjoy discussing and celebrating the children. As an alternative, parents could send in videos which are on show in the two TV screens in the foyers. Please take a moment to look and read them - they are joy on a page!

This celebration built on the foundation of the weekly assemblies where children bring in and show certificates, trophies or medals for activities they undertake out of school.

Safer Internet Day

Our Year 6 children showcased their learning about online safety on ITV Channel Days on Safer Internet Day.

The whole school had a focused theme week of online safety. These messages were reinforced through assemblies, class learning activities and visitors. Our head teacher was even interviewed on the radio.
